Saale-Mäander
The meander (winding of the river run) of the Franconian Saale is a relatively young area at the height of the tennis courts. In the course of the flood avoidance, the course of the Saale was changed and large areas were renaturalized. This created this habitat for a diverse flora and fauna directly in the magnificent Luitpold Park. The shallow water of the Saale as well as the adjacent beach-volley-ball field invite young and old to relax and to actively relax. Of course, you are also welcome to swim in the Franconian Saale. The water quality is constantly checked and especially in summer a cool bath offers a welcome change for young and old.
